About Ally

I’m an artist based in Vancouver, BC, creating watercolour and ink works inspired by stillness, memory, and place, with a focus on quiet moments that bring reflection, grounding, and calm into everyday life.

Why I create this work

Portrait of artist Ally Noormohamed smiling outdoors

I’m drawn to moments that often go unnoticed. The quiet strength of a place, the pause between movement, the feeling of steadiness during change.

Over time, personal experiences with transition and health taught me to slow down, listen more closely, and redefine what resilience looks like. Painting became a way to process those experiences, not by dramatizing them, but by paying attention to what’s steady, subtle, and enduring.

Through watercolour and ink, I explore themes of calm, reflection, and resilience, often inspired by the urban and natural environments around me.

What this work offers

Framed watercolour artwork displayed in a calm interior setting

I create art for people who want to live with work that feels grounding rather than loud. Pieces that offer a pause, a sense of familiarity, or a quiet reminder to slow down.

Whether it’s a place that holds personal meaning, a moment worth remembering, or a scene that simply feels calm to return to, my hope is that the work becomes something you can live with, not just look at.
